S5 trackers are insurance-approved vehicle trackers that offer the highest level of security for your vehicle, with 24/7 monitoring and Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR) instantly identifying any unauthorised drivers.
As of January 2019, Thatcham Category 5 trackers have been replaced with Thatcham Category S5 Trackers. If your insurance provider has requested that your vehicle be fitted with either an S5 Tracker or CAT 5 Tracker, then all the products in this category will be compatible with your vehicle.

WHO IS THATCHAM?
'Thatcham' is the name of the vehicle security test centre (otherwise known as the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre).
Thatcham Research is responsible for categorising the level of vehicle security that a product offers. S5 is a Thatcham quality assurance rating.
Your insurers may have used the terminology 'Thatcham S5 Tracker ' when in discussion for what tracking device to install.
This means when you see 'S5 tracker' this is a Thatcham classification.
This also means that, if they have stipulated a Thatcham s5 Tracker installation, then you must adhere to this to validate your insurance policy.
